Arapahoe seniors Ava Mitchell and Emily Lamontagne finished fourth and ninth, respectively, in the Class 5A girls final at the Colorado High School Activities Association state cross country championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Mitchell covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:42.1 and Lamontagne clocked 18:30.2 for Arapahoe, which placed fifth overall with 138 points. Mitchell became the first female athlete in Arapahoe history to earn all-state honors all four years, finishing seventh in 2019 and fourth in 2020 and 2021. Lamontagne took third last season, helping Arapahoe capture a second state team title, along with 2019.
